Men’s 1 are competing in Premier Division again for 2024-25. They will face Elmfield’s Men’s 2nd team, St. Gab’s, Telecom & NCBC.

Elmfield Men’s 1st team competed in Premier Division during the 2023-24 season. Team Captain: Josh Young

Men’s 1 finished in 3rd place in Premier Division this season, winning 3 out of their 8 matches. They faced Telecom (losing 7-2 in both matches), St. Gab’s (losing 5-4 & 7-2), Newcastle University (winning both matches 7-2) & NCBC (winning the home match 7-2 but losing 5-4 in the away match). They will be competing in Premier Division again for the 2024-25 season.

Team Captain: Josh Young

A good season for Men’s 1 who won 6 out of their 8 matches beating Elmfield Men’s 2 8-1 & 7-2, winning 6-3 & 8-1 against Newcastle University, 6-3 against St. Gab’s & 5-4 against Telecom. However, they lost the return matches to St. Gab’s (6-3) & Telecom (5-4). The final league standings were incredibly close with St. Gab’s finishing in 1st place with 49 points, Telecom finishing in 2nd place with 48 points and Elmfield finishing in 3rd with 47 points! The team will be competing in Premier Division again during the 2023-24 season.

Team Captain: Garrylee McMullen

A fabulous season for Men’s 1 who won 8 out of 8 matches and finished at the top of Premier Division with 20 points and claimed the league title! They beat St. Gab’s 1st team 7-2 (home) & 5-4 (away), beat Newcastle University 9-0 in both home & away matches, beat St. Gab’s 2nd team 8-1 (home) & 6-3 (away) then had two very close matches against Telecom, where they won 5-4 on both occasions! The team will be competing in Premier Division again during the 2022-23 season.

Team Captain: Mike Smith

The Men’s 1st team won 3 out of their 7 matches (the final match, against Telecom, was unable to be played due to the COVID pandemic and lockdown restrictions). They claimed victories over St. Gab’s 2nd team (8-1 in both matches) as well as beating Newcastle University 5-4 at home. They lost 5-4 to the University away and also lost 7-2 and 6-3 to St. Gab’s 1st team and 5-4 to Telecom.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the leagues were voided and there was no promotion, relegation or trophy presentation in any of the leagues.

Team Captain: Dan Rogerson

The Men’s 1st team finished in 2nd place in Premier Division, winning 4 out of their 8 matches (7-2 and 6-3 against Newcastle University, 6-3 against NCBC and 6-3 against Telecom) then lost twice against St. Gab’s, 5-4 and 5-4, once against Telecom, 7-2, and once against NCBC, 6-3. The team will be competing again in Premier Division during the 2019-20 season.

The Men’s 1st team finished in 2nd place in Premier Division this year, winning 7 out of their 8 matches and only losing by one point to Telecom who claimed the title! The team will be competing in Premier Division again during the 2018-19 season.
