Elmfield Badminton Club turned 100 years old in 2024!
On Saturday 21st September 2024, we held Elmfield’s 100th birthday party at Gosforth Civic Theatre in Newcastle!
Over 70 past & present Elmfield members were in attendance at the party and it was brilliant to see Elmfield members from across the decades sharing stories, chatting to eachother and looking through the Elmfield memorabilia (including a book with club records dating right back to the beginning in 1924!)
We were also thrilled that our Club Secretary, Alison Thompson, was awarded the prestigious English Badminton Award for over 40 years of service to Elmfield and Northumberland Badminton Association. Alison Odell, Badminton England Vice President, was able to attend our 100th celebration to present the Award to Alison!
